Of course Cockos have always done it this way, and who am I to question a successful business model, but a suggestion would be to change the license to 8.99 the day the first 7.0 beta is released. If I was unaware and bought it yesterday and then find out 7.0 is in a beta stage I would feel cheated. It isn't that Reaper would be bad value at $60 for ->7.99, it is the fact that it would be a bad deal. If 7.0 wasn't imminent I would buy it today. Then the license will cover me to 8.99 which is a better deal. ![]() Some will call me cheap but I won't buy Reaper today, I will wait for 7.0. I am returning to the hobby and this time I'm going Reaper since Cakewalk isn't what it used to be. I hesitate to say this, but I think it's a little bit weird. Hear, hear! As I said earlier in the comments, if you buy Reaper today, you get v.6.82 and the license covers you up to 7.99, i.e. Is there any other support where the original programmers will personally answer questions ? I see some midi changes that should put Reaper in front of most others. Read the forum before asking anything as its more of a bug hunt than a feature request area ,though much of it is from feature requests. ![]() If you are an advanced user I would hope that you are helping out a bit by testing 7 in pre release state. There is so much more under the hood that I will never use but the more advanced users are asking for and receiving in many cases. I even downloaded 2 just for fun and it still functions in basic things the same Since version 3 when I first used reaper almost everything works basically the same as far as most of my use. The Reaper crew are truly making stuff that most others keep on the back burner ,probably because they run like a company and their programmers are dictated to by sales people. ![]() That may be the reason for the integer increase. I have been checking out some of the new features and there are many and varied. ![]()
